Denial of God leads to internal confusion, moral compromise, and emotional numbness.
Scripture: “For the flesh lusteth against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh…” — Galatians 5:17 (KJV)
There is a war happening inside of each of us.
Not a war of nations or neighbors—but of Spirit vs. self.
Galatians 5:17 reminds us that the flesh is always in conflict with the Spirit. It’s not passive. It’s not occasional. It’s daily and relentless.
The flesh wants to be comfortable, to seek validation, to defend its pride, to feel pleasure without accountability. But the Spirit calls us to higher ground—to humility, to surrender, to truth even when it hurts.
This internal war intensifies when we live without spiritual awareness. Denying God doesn’t eliminate the conflict—it just removes the compass. We’re left chasing satisfaction in things that cannot satisfy: approval from others, fleeting pleasure, political identity, or worldly success.
And still, the soul hungers for something deeper.
Still, the Spirit calls.
Still, the fight continues.
The question is not whether we are in a war. The question is: which side are we feeding?
How to Win the War Within:
– Begin each day by acknowledging the conflict and inviting God in.
– Practice Spirit-led habits: prayer, fasting, forgiveness, silence, service.
– Choose the hard right over the easy wrong—even when no one sees it.
Reflection Question:
What war is raging within me that I pretend doesn’t exist?
