Fallen

A bottomless pit shackles the rationality of the prophecy of flesh,

Known to Light, as the ultimate manifestation of self-destruction.

Its master feeds off the internal hell
inside the confused heart of man.

He smirks as man struggles without repentance… in hopes of being reborn.

Darkness gleams as man’s betrays the image in which he was made.

Earth’s temptations for momentary pleasures have hypnotized his being,

In support of his own self-proclamation
and stand for self-righteousness.

He blindly journeys through the shadows of his chosen destination.

True light appears not before him, and thus; never his path stays straight.

For he has dedicated his life to the affixations of his mortal desires,

That, he alone embraces and devours
without thought for lasting flavor.

For he has chosen his own destiny
and to repent for forgiveness is none.

Whoa! He has stumbled in the mist
of Earth’s deception without hesitation,

In such that his existence in life amongst God’s children was only a thought.

Though the hand of Jesus is at his fingertips, he remains rooted in the soil.

For he has fallen and the lingering thirst for salvation

There comes a time when humanity must pause and face the truth: the greatest tragedy of life is not the moment we fall, but when we choose to remain fallen. The poem Fallen speaks to this very reality of a man shackled by his own desires, blinded by temporary pleasures and deaf to the voice of repentance.

The Struggle of the Human Heart

Scripture reminds us: Jeremiah 17:9

“The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it?”

In the poem, the heart of man is described as confused, consumed by the “internal hell” of mortal desires. This struggle is not new. From Adam and Eve in the garden to today, we all battle against temptations that gleam with beauty but leave behind chains.

The Shadowed Journey Without Repentance

The lines echo a harsh truth: many walk through life blind, thinking their own strength, self-righteousness, or good intentions will guide them.

Yet Jesus Himself declared: “I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.” John 14:6

Without repentance, without Christ, our path veers into shadows, never straight, never illuminated by true light. Repentance is not shame it is freedom. It is the opening of the prison door.

Earth’s Deceptions and the Hand of Jesus

The poem mourns the soul who stumbled willingly into deception, who ignored the hand of Christ stretched toward him. This paints a sobering picture of how often we settle for soil when the Savior offers us eternity.

Paul warns us: 2 Corinthians 11:14

“And no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light.”

Earth’s temptations look appealing, but behind them lies ruin. And yet, the beauty of Christ’s love is that His hand never withdraws. He waits until our final breath for us to reach.

The Call to Rise Again

The poem ends with the haunting reality: “For he has fallen and the lingering thirst for salvation ended when he died.” It is a truth few want to face, but eternity is not an afterthought  it is the destiny of every soul.

Hebrews 9:27 reminds us: “And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment.”

But judgment need not end in despair. Salvation is still a present gift.

Reflection

Where in your life have you allowed “momentary pleasures” to blind you from the eternal?

Have you mistaken self-righteousness for true righteousness in Christ?

If Jesus’ hand is still at your fingertips, will you take it today?

Prayer

Lord, we confess that our hearts are weak, easily deceived, and often distracted by fleeting things. Keep us from stumbling in the shadows, and lead us back into Your marvelous light. May no reader here today fall without the hope of rising again through Your grace. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
