Greed doesn’t always come from strangers. Often, it emerges from the very ones we trust the most. When a loved one values money, power, or self-interest over love, the damage cuts deep.

Scripture warns us clearly:
He that is greedy of gain troubleth his own house… Proverbs 15:27

Greed blinds the heart. It exchanges relationships for transactions, giving for taking. And often, by the time we realize it, our emotional accounts have already been emptied.

But here’s the truth: love that can be bought was never real love. And those who exploit our love for personal gain bring more harm to themselves than to us. Trust that God sees—and He restores. He is not blind to the tears we’ve cried, nor deaf to the prayers we’ve whispered in silence. Every act of deceit will meet its own end, for His justice does not sleep.

So let us not harden our hearts in retaliation, but remain steadfast in faith. For the same God who parts seas and lifts the lowly will lift you beyond the reach of those who sought to use you. They may think they’ve won, but in truth, they have only chained themselves to the weight of their own wrongdoing.

Rest in the promise that what God rebuilds is always stronger than what was broken, and what He returns is always more than what was stolen. Hold your head high, for your story is not one of defeat, but of divine restoration.

Money can not buy lovee but it has the power to destroy it.

Reflection

Have I unknowingly allowed the pursuit of gain to cost me peace in my closest relationships?

Did my greed cause another more hardship and suffering?
