There are days I squint to read the fine print, and nights when I stretch my arm to bring the words into focus. Yes, my natural eyesight has weakened with time, but don’t mistake that for blindness. Because when it comes to the truth of people’s intentions, the whispers behind smiles, and the deception behind polished appearances—I see clearer than ever.
And though my ears may sometimes tune out the noise of this world, they never fail to recognize a spirit out of alignment. I don’t just hear words—I hear motives. I hear spirits. Especially the foolish ones.
We live in a time when foolishness parades itself as freedom, and deception wears the garments of wisdom. People speak with confidence but lack character. They shout in defense of chaos, claiming it as their right. They flatter, manipulate, and perform. But no matter how skilled the act, spiritual discernment sees beyond the costume.
I’ve been in rooms filled with laughter that echoed emptiness. I’ve been applauded by people whose hearts quietly wished for my failure. I’ve watched the foolish attempt to mock the things of God with prideful tongues and blind ambition.
But here’s what I know: “The wisdom of this world is foolishness with God.” (1 Corinthians 3:19, KJV)
Discernment is not a gift to be flaunted—it is a protection. It keeps the sensitive heart from being played. It shields the weary soul from manipulation. It reveals what is hidden in plain sight: the foolishness of man dressed up as influence.
Reflection Verse:
“He that hath ears to hear, let him hear.” — Matthew 11:15 (KJV)
I may not have 20/20 vision, but my spiritual eyes have been refined by experience, betrayal, silence, and prayer. And though the ears on my head grow tired of the world’s noise, the ears of my spirit remain attentive to the still, small voice of God and the loud disruptions of foolishness that try to disguise themselves in His name.
So no, I am not blind. And yes, I hear you. I hear what you’re not saying. I hear what your spirit cannot hide. And I stand on the firm foundation of wisdom that comes not from man, but from God.
Because foolishness is loud, but truth is louder.
