Good Morning,

Every election, choice, and opportunity for influence requires one sacred gift  discernment. It is easy to be impressed by charisma, charm, and campaign promises, but true discernment goes deeper. It looks beyond appearance into the heart.

God does not measure a person by their popularity, but by their posture. The same holds true for leadership. Whether in government, church, or community, a leader’s character will either uplift or corrupt the people they serve.

Scripture reminds us to not rely upon ourselves: “But the Lord said unto Samuel, Look not on his countenance, or on the height of his stature; because I have refused him: for the Lord seeth not as man seeth; for man looketh on the outward appearance, but the Lord looketh on the heart.” (1 Samuel 16:7).

When we vote, appoint, or follow someone’s leadership, we are placing trust into their hands. That trust should never be given lightly. Discernment is the spiritual gatekeeper that prevents deception and protects righteousness.

Many are drawn to leaders who speak well, but not all who speak well, lead well. The enemy knows how to dress corruption in confidence. That’s why believers must ask God for the spirit of wisdom and understanding before making decisions that impact generations.

“He that ruleth over men must be just, ruling in the fear of God.” (2 Samuel 23:3).

A leader with humility will seek counsel, listen before commanding, and honor the people they serve. A leader without humility will serve self-interest and call it destiny. As God’s people, our job is not to follow blindly, but to discern boldly with hearts anchored in truth, not emotion.

Reflection

So before casting your vote, supporting a cause, or promoting a name, pause and pray: “Lord, let me not be moved by what I see, but by what You reveal.”

“Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God.” (1 John 4:1).

Do I pray for wisdom before supporting or following a leader? Am I more impressed by talent or by integrity? How can I better discern the motives of those who seek influence over my life or community?

Prayer

Lord, As we observe the leaders before me in government, in church, in community, and even in my own home let me judge righteously, not critically. Remind me that humility is the crown of true leadership, and wisdom is the anchor of a faithful heart. Please be the light in my decisions when I must make decisions that will affect your children. Help those whom still walk in darkness awaken to your truths. Lord, as the coming of judgment lingers near, help us to be the light in your losy children. Please help us to uphold the righteous character of those you choose to lead. We ask and trust you for your guidance and discernment that we alo e cannot do in the Mighty Name of Jesus, Amen.

Be Blessed 🙌.
