Scripture Reference: Revelation 20:12 (KJV)
“…and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works.”
A Culture of Contradictions
Today’s humanity is overflowing with contradiction. We promote freedom of speech but cancel voices we disagree with. We say love wins—while hating anyone who doesn’t affirm our worldview. We claim to protect the vulnerable, yet turn a blind eye to unborn lives or broken men and women behind bars. We demand justice, yet ignore God’s righteousness.
Man has replaced God’s judgment with public opinion, trending hashtags, and viral outrage. But when the books are opened, trends won’t matter. Truth will.
Controversial Attitudes That Defy God
– Redefining Sin as Self-Expression: Modern culture celebrates what God calls sin. Adultery becomes “just a mistake,” greed becomes “hustle culture,” and pride becomes “confidence.” But redefining wrong does not make it right in the eyes of a holy God.
– Selective Compassion: Society is quick to show compassion for the causes that are popular—but cold to those who don’t fit the narrative.
– Deification of Self: We’ve become our own gods—trusting in vibes, the universe, or our “higher selves” rather than God.
– Revenge Over Repentance: We applaud people who “cut off” others and “get even,” yet God says to forgive seventy times seven.
Man’s Reactions vs. God’s Instruction
God says: “Thou shalt not kill.”
Man says: “It’s my right.”
God says: “Love thy neighbor.”
Man says: “Only if they agree with me.”
God says: “Judge not, that ye be not judged.”
Man says: “Cancel them.”
God says: “Be holy.”
Man says: “Nobody’s perfect, so why try?”
The Books Are Still Open…
Right now, each of us is writing our story. God is watching—not to condemn, but to invite. To convict. To save. But the day will come when the books will close and the judgment will begin. And on that day, the truth will not be filtered or edited. No PR statement, therapist, or trending excuse will erase what’s written.
So we must ask ourselves:
Am I living in a way that honors God—or simply comforts myself?
Is my name written in the Book of Life—or just trending on a platform?
Final Reflection
This life is not a rehearsal. It’s the preface to eternity. Let us not be people who spend more time pleasing man than preparing for God. Because when the books are opened, only one judgment will matter—and that is the judgment of a righteous and loving God.
